In “Rudy Suits Up,” Rudy joins a peewee football team and becomes a star player. Her family is very excited to cheer for her and football fever hits the Huxtable house. Claire starts watching a Bears game with Cliff and criticizes Walter Payton because he gets tackled. Cliff leaves the room when Claire and Denise start commenting on the uniforms and the attractiveness of certain players.
I enjoy watching sports with my husband…football, basketball, tennis, baseball. However, I too have spoiled many games/matches for him by my extraneous comments. I know all of the rules and appreciate the talents of the players, but I also notice many other things…conflicts in the stands, poorly dressed coaches, inappropriate actions by the players, unattractive hairstyles, and so on. I like to think of it as color commentary…
