Rudy (yelling from upstairs): Daddy!! Did Mommy leave?
Cliff: Yes. What do you want?
Rudy: Mommy!
In this episode, Rudy is sick, but Claire must go to work for an interview. Cliff takes care of her, but despite being a doctor, she still wants Mommy.
How true! When the kids are sick, they want Mommy. They cough on Mommy and sneeze on Mommy and guess who gets sick next? Daddy!
I am fortunate that I have the happiest sick kids in the world. Only twice has Son #2 really been leveled by illness and ended up hospitalized with pneumonia. I have since learned to pay attention when he starts to slow down.

When 6 year old daughter was throwing up a couple of days ago, she said in the whiniest voice you can imagine(as she is writhing on the floor)..."Why would God let me feel so sick?" and "I wish I could go to heaven so I would never be this sick again!" I just wanted to go to heaven so I won't ever hear whining again! Seriously, I love the kid, but she is not a happy sick girl!
I should clarify...my kids are happy probably because they don't throw up or run high fevers. They are cursed primarily with respiratory and sinus problems. Whenever they are sick enough to stay home from school, they tend think of it as a holiday and watch tv all day. I should also clarify...I am NOT happy when they are sick nor am I a happy sick person.
