Son #2 told me the other day that he does not want to go to sports camp next year. He has decided that I must be lonely during the day. Despite my objections, he told me that I need his company and his cuddles.
I thought it was so sweet! Husband thought it was manipulative. I, of course, heard, “Mommy, you are the greatest and I love you so much. I miss you when we are apart.” Husband said that he probably meant “Sports camp is hot and sweaty. At home, I can watch tv and play video games. I might even get to go to Target.” Ignorance, on my part, is bliss.
